The NHL has drastically changed the format for its All-Star Game this year, hoping to increase interest in the event, scheduled for Jan. 30 in Raleigh, N.C.Tuesday, the league announced the six highest vote-getters in its annual All-Star Fan Balloting. The list is comprised of three forwards, two defensemen, and one goalie.
More than 14.3 million votes were cast, and it's no surprise that Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby was the top vote-getter, receiving over 600,000 votes. Joining him at forward is teammate Evgeni Malkin, who was third among forwards in voting. Chicago captain Jonathan Toews was second, more than 200,000 tallies behind Crosby.
