Sunday?s Three Stars: Kostitsyn?s trick leads Preds past Flames

Sunday?s Three Stars: Kostitsyn?s trick leads Preds past Flames

No. 1 Star: Sergei Kostitsyn, Nashville Predators

Kostitsyn's first multi-goal game of the season and first hat trick of his career was the difference for the Preds in their 5-3 victory over Calgary. His second goal stood as the game-winner. He was a pretty easy choice for 1st star, although there might have been a case for Kevin Klein if Kostitsyn hadn't stolen his second goal of the game in icing the hat trick:

Think he'll mind?

No. 2 Star: Jordin Tootoo, Nashville Predators

Tootoo picked up two assists, one on Kevin Klein's goal in the first and another on Matt Halischuk's goal early in the second. He also had four shots, two hits and played 15:37.

No. 3 Star: Rene Bourque, Calgary Flames

Bourque had a team-high four shots for the Flames and scored a goal early in the third period to cut the Predators' lead to 4-2.

Honourable mention: Patrick Hornqvist had a two-point outing for Nashville, picking up assists on Kostitsyn's first and second tallies of the game. Ryan Suter played 25:20 of solid defensive hockey. Jarome Iginla opened the scoring in this game. It was the 499th goal of his career.

Did you know? After losing their first game without Shea Weber, the Predators have won three straight.

Dishonourable mention: Jay Bouwmeester finished the night an abysmal minus-5.
