Emil Garipov is a 20-year-old goaltender for Ak Bars in the Kontinental Hockey League. He also probably wants this one back from a game last Friday night:
Vityaz's Evgeny Timkin was credited with the unassisted goal at 14:46 of the first period, as his unassuming advance of the puck went off of Garipov's stick, then the inside of hisright skate, then his left skate and then onto Timkin's blade for the layup goal. Garipov would give up another goal 2:55 into the second period and was eventually pulled. Vityaz won the game, 3-2.
And really, what better way to celebrate a gift-wrapped goal than with a baseball slide behind the goal? Keep it classy, Vityaz Chekhov.
OK, that's not entirely fair: This is, after all, the first time Vityaz Chekhov has appeared on Puck Daddy for something other than a line brawl or Jon Mirasty grinning through a fight. Hell, they didn't even have a major penalty in this game; they did keep it classy!
