Before tonight, he hadn't faced an NHL shot on goal, or given up an NHL goal. Against the Toronto Maple Leafs, he achieved both milestones at the same moment ... and then gave up his second NHL goal on his second NHL shot, according to the official play by play.

Koskinen was 5-15 with a 3.64 GAA and an .882 save percentage in the AHL before his call-up, necessitated by a knee injury to Nathan Lawson last Friday and Rick DiPietro's good decision-making.
Tonight, Koskinen, a 6-foot-6 rookie from Finland and the Islanders' second-round pick in 2009 (No. 31 overall), was pressed into action after yet another odd goaltending injury for the Islanders, this time to goalie Kevin Poulin.
Poulin, a rookie who is subbing for injured No. 1 netminder Rick DiPietro, appeared to catch his left skate in a rut in the crease and fell awkwardly early in warmups Tuesday night. He appeared to be in significant pain as he turned onto his stomach. He gingerly skated off the ice and was helped down the tunnel toward the Islanders dressing room.
Here's a shot of Poulin being helped off the ice, via Islanders fan Dan Wernau on Twitter. There was a report on MSG Network that said Poulin was headed to the hospital, but that was later retracted. Deb Placey of MSG reported that AHL Bridgeport goalie Joel Martin was called up and en route to the arena.
In other Islanders goaltending news, sources say Evgeni Nabokov made a sandwich and watched a Blu-Ray today.
