Danny Briere Replaces Jarome Iginla in 2011 NHL All-Star Game

Before they announced the All-Star selections last week, the NHL had already worked with teams and players to allow some to sit out the festivities, for various reasons.

Since the rosters were announced, it became clear that Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby might not be able to take part in the game, because of a concussion suffered in early January. While no official word has come out as to his status, we do now know of one star who won't be in Raleigh.

Calgary captain Jarome Iginla has been excused from the game, replaced by Philadelphia's Danny Briere.
