Puck Headlines: Ryan Miller upset; no punishment for Kronwall

Here are your Puck Headlines: a glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

? Earlier this week, Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins explained that his team likes to get stronger as the game goes on: "Stronger 'til dawn, like Lancelot. ?You know Lancelot, the knight? The real duels they had, some of them would go all night, because they had so much armor and they were so heavy, they could hardly move. Legend is that he just kept getting stronger the longer it went, so that's what I mean by that." Andrew Bourne of The 305 Creative Company created this beauty on Thomas's honor.

? Meanwhile, the Bruins Foundation is raffling off a Stanley Cup ring.

? Adam Proteau believes that the Chicago Blackhawks are now the favorites for the Stanley Cup, an award for which goaltending is apparently not required in victory. [THN]

? We'll have more on this but just go and watch the Blackhawks' Christmas video. It's amazing.

? STOP THE PRESSES! Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres is upset with the number of goalies being run in the NHL: "Obviously, I pay attention to other games in the league and I think it's becoming a little bit of the guys are trying to arrive at the net without a plan." [CP]

? No Shanaban for Paul Gaustad on that hit to Jesse Winchester, which concussed him. [Slam]

? USA Hockey announced the roster for the gold-medalists-in-waiting US National Junior Team, including Jack Campbell between the irons. [USA Hockey]

? A taunting incident in juniors is getting some league attention: Andreas Athanasiou ? who is of Greek descent ? said Andrey Pedan insulted him with a Middle Eastern slur. [Buzzing The Net]

? How does life change for the Los Angeles Kings with Darryl Sutter at the helm? Rudy Kelly says nothing is changing: "The Kings aren't going to start opening things up. Like Quisp said, the Kings aren't changing the system; they're changing the way it's taught. Hopefully Sutter encourages a more get up 'n go attitude to get more chances off the rush, but that's probably the only change we'll see." [BoC]

Check out the trailer for GOON. Looking good. [Slash Film]

? The NHL will not suspend or fine Detroit Red Wings Niklas Kronwall for his hit on Ryan Kesler last night, despite getting some sweet hops on the finish. [Freep]

? Bourne talks about communication between refs and players with regard to Dan O'Halloran's discussion with Max Talbot on HBO 24/7. [Backhand Shelf]

? Among Adrian Dater's 2012 NHL predictions: "Along with my work stoppage prediction, I hope to be wrong on this one, but there are just too many signs that the NHL is prepared to give up on hockey in the desert. The move to Glendale in 2003 was done with all good intentions by the Coyotes' former owners. Glendale is a booming suburb with a big football stadium nearby and lots of new construction. Then the U.S. economy started going bust, the team started to stink, and fans in the area fell into steadily increasing indifference. Another big problem: there is virtually no media coverage of the Coyotes in Arizona. Many times, the only way you can find stories about them is via the team's website. It's a case of out-of-sight, out-of-fan's minds when a team gets little local coverage." [SI]

? Lepore reviews the VERSUS special on concussions. [Puck The Media]

? Katie Baker on HBO 24/7: "Last week's episode brought us the hilarity of Philadelphia goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov espousing on 'the universe,' sacred tigers, and Chinese law. This week, Bryz walked into a team meal the way Forrest Gump boarded a bus: His teammates, having watched the program, had no desire to sit near him. (Jagr literally moved his tray to another table.) It was playful ? but also kind of not? I dunno, I felt a little bit bad for Bryz, although I guess it's hard to feel bad for someone who proceeds to happily sit down and begin comparing his 'blue-eyed' Siberian husky to 'basically a hot girl, man.'" [Grantland]

? Brian Propp discusses the alumni game at the Winter Classic, and Bobby Clarke: "Maybe he'll hack somebody because he can't keep up anymore. That'll be fun for the fans to see." [The Checking Line]

? Jody Shelley, bringer of concussions, talks about player safety with the Sporting News: "I don't think there's such a thing as being overcautious. We, as players, know that, and that's the most important thing, that we know, as players, that this is a bruise you have to take care of now, and treat it like it's something bigger than a bruise. You have to wait and see how you're going to feel and be smart about it." [Sporting News]

? Good look at the Minnesota Wild goaltending tandem. [Fox Sports North]

? The Ottawa Senators are likely without Peter Regin for the season with a shoulder injury. [Slam]

? Dakota County prosecutors have charged a St. Paul man with making terroristic threats and assault after an attack on a coach of his son's youth hockey team. A criminal complaint says 49-year-old Thomas Tonda attacked the coach after he disciplined Tonda's son following an incident during practice. [KARE 11]

? Check out this gallery of Los Angeles Kings player tattoos. [Kings]

? Finally, here's an HD multi-view of that Kronwall'ing of Ryan Kesler last night.
