Evening Reading
? The Devils make a deal with the Ducks: Rod Pelley, defenseman Mark Fraser and that all-important seventh-round pick to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Kurtis Foster and minor league goaltender Timo Pielmeier. When the Devils' power play is struggling as it is, Foster could be a big acquisition. [Fire & Ice]
? Remember that slew foot by Brad Marchand on Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Matt Niskanen, after which he answered the bell for a fight? He was fined $2,500 for it by the NHL. [NHL]
? Meanwhile, as expected: San Jose Sharks forward Andrew Desjardins has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Sami Lepisto on Sunday. [NHL]
? We'll likely revisit this, but Pat Hickey penned an incendiary column that called Theo Fleury an "enabler" of Graham James for his silence on sex abuse, while other like Sheldon Kennedy spoke out about it. [Montreal Gazette]
? According to Sarah Baicker, "Bernie Parent WILL have a custom painted goalie mask for the Winter Classic alumni game." No plain white mask? Boo. [@sbaickerCSN]
? We floated the Darryl Sutter idea for the Los Angeles Kings. Rich Hammond follows the trail: "From what I've come to understand, the Kings don't see Stevens as their long-term coach. Keep an eye on the whereabouts of Darryl Sutter in the next few days. Dean Lombardi is very close with Sutter and, as GM in San Jose, hired Sutter in 1997." [LA Kings Insider]
Puck Daddy Reader Comment of the Day: MckenL33 on the latest Vityaz malarkey:

Bold Prediction: There isn't another coach fired tonight.
