With the beds in sick bay at a premium these days, the Calgary Flames have added a warm body to help shore up their ailing line-up as the start of the National Hockey League regular season looms. The Flames on Monday announced the signing of Brendan Morrison, a veteran centreman who has spent most of his 14 years in the league with Calgary's heated rivals, the Vancouver Canucks.
Morrison's addition comes as the Flames' injury woes mount. Out indefinitely are centre Daymond Langkow (neck), centre Matt Stajan (separated shoulder), yet another centre David Moss (shoulder), and right winger Ales Kotalik (knee).
