SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Practice Tuesday for the Phoenix Coyotes "wasn't much fun," according to team captain Shane Doan.
That's not surprising, really. Head coach Dave Tippett was steamed after a 6-1 loss at Pittsburgh on Monday night, and when asked about that game on Thursday following his team's morning skate, he clenched his jaw before responding.
"My assertion then was that it was unacceptable, and that's where I am still," Tippett said. "There were too many critical mistakes. We played as far away from our identity as we could."
Tippett said that team leadership has addressed that drubbing in the room, and that means Doan, who is also still less than pleased with that effort, and looking for a better performance on Thursday night at HP Pavilion.
