Restricted free agent David Perron and the St. Louis Blues have agreed on a new two-year contract. The 22-year-old winger was drafted by the Blues in the first round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting the deal is worth $4.3 million. It will pay him $1.8 million this season and $2.5 million during the 2011-12 season.

"I love playing in St. Louis and in front of our fans," Perron said. "For the past three seasons they have treated me great and I can't wait for the season to start."

Perron scored 47 points last season, following a career-high 50 points in 2008-09. Perron scored a career-high 20 goals last year. Perron has played in 225 games for the franchise, recording 124 points with 48 goals and 76 assists, proving to be one of the most consistent scorers for the Blues in his three years in the NHL.

Perron broke the news himself on his Twitter page Wednesday.
