Nashville Predators defenseman Shane O'Brien received a two-game suspension on Friday, one day after he delivered a high stick to the head of Florida Panthers center Stephen Weiss. The incident occurred as the first period came to an end at the side of the Predators' net and resulted in a cut to Weiss' face. No penalty was called on the play.
O'Brien was suspended for one game last season and is considered a repeat offender under league rules, which means he'll forfeit salary based on the number of games missed instead of the number of days in a season.
That comes to $39,024.40.
