There was a time when Brendan Morrison considered himself a "lifer."With eight seasons under his belt as a member of the Vancouver Canucks, he could envision growing old by the Pacific.
Alas, he was thrown a curve that he still hasn't entirely adjusted to.
"Yeah, I thought there was a real good chance I'd finish my career in Vancouver, no matter how long it lasted,'' suggested the Calgary Flames' forward. "The last few years have been a bit of a whirlwind. You're with one organization for eight years and then four teams in three years, it's much different.''
During Morrison's last year in Vancouver, 2007-08, he played half a season, suffering a wrist injury which took three months to heal. Nine games into his return, he blew out is ACL. The Canucks failed to make the playoffs, which prompted an organizational over-haul.
"They brought in a whole new management crew and they made changes,'' he shrugged.
