Dustin Brown Ejected in Minnesota for Hit to the Head

Monday night, the Los Angeles Kings traveled to Minnesota to take on the Wild in a nationally televised game on Versus.

About halfway through the second period, Kings captain Dustin Brown was ejected for a hit to the head according to referees Wes McCauley and Francois St. Laurent. Brown received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for a hit he laid on Minnesota's Antti Miettinen in the Kings zone.

After this and other such situations, like one involving Blake Comeau and Kris Letang, it is clear that referees are not afraid to toss anyone who targets an opponent's head.
