CALGARY, Alberta -- For a guy like T.J. Brodie, it's unparalleled excitement.
For a guy like Craig Conroy, it's more of a relief.
But both are in the eye of the anticipation for the 2010-11 National Hockey League regular season, which for the Calgary Flames begins after a three-hour bus ride up north to Edmonton on Thursday night.
Brodie, a 20-year-old defenceman, impressed the Flames' brass throughout training camp and has survived final cuts. He wasn't sure whether he'd get the call against the Oilers, but head coach Brent Sutter intimated that he would.
For Brodie, just still having a locker in the Calgary dressing room is a surprise.
