Atlanta Thrashers forward Patrice Cormier suffered a broken right foot during rookie camp and is out indefinitely, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The highly touted prospect, who came to Atlanta from New Jersey in the Ilya Kovalchuk trade, was hurt while blocking a shot on Thursday during a four-on-four scrimmage. He left the team's training facility on crutches and X-rays confirmed the injury on Friday.

The Constitution reported that Thrashers' general manager Rick Dudley said that Cormier "had a real chance to make the Thrashers' roster."
