Logan Couture Coming of Age for Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Logan Couture already has played on the Sharks' top line this season, and he's now centering a line with high-scoring Dany Heatley on one side and hard-nosed Ryane Clowe on the other.

The rookie from London, Ontario, is drawing plenty of praise from his older teammates, particularly after scoring the game-winning goal in San Jose's season-opening win over Columbus in Sweden last week, and there are many who believe that the 21-year-old will be in the running for the Calder Trophy.

He's not getting the same attention, perhaps, as the Edmonton trio of Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall and Magnus Paajarvi, or Boston's Tyler Seguin, Montreal's P.K. Subban and so on. For one thing, Couture is not a teenager, he wasn't drafted last year, and he's not making his NHL debut this season.
