A few items to kick off a hockey Thursday ...
1. REMINDER: The Puck Daddy NYC Viewing Party for the New York Islanders vs. the New York Rangers is Friday night (Dec. 3) starting at 6:30 p.m. (and ending whenever) at The Irish Times in Manhattan (right across the street from Madison Square Garden at 254 West 31st Street - 212-216-9355). Wyshynski? There. Leahy? There. Lambert? Yes, in fact Ryan Lambert will be there too. Hopefully wearing protective gear.
Attendees must be 21 or older. We'll be raffling off prizes between periods; the first 150 fans who arrive get a pretty darn cool door prize as well.
Drink specials, at least by Manhattan standards: Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, Killians, Yuengling pints for $5.
Email puckdaddyblog@yahoo.com with any questions; the Official Twitter tag for the event is #PuckDaddyNYC. Just a chance to hang out with like-minded puckheads, say thanks and watch the animosity build between the Isles and Rangers.
2. Commenting System. You may have noticed a change in the comments, hopefully for the better. This system has been used in other places around the Y! Sports site, and we've liked the results. We don't know all that much about it, but the voting of comments up and down is pretty cool as is the ability to reply directly to a comment. We'd welcome your feedback.
3. Puck Daddy Radio today: Jason York of Team 1200 in Ottawa on Dany Heatley's return, and Ryan Suter of the Nashville Predators in the second segment. PD Radio is available on iTunes; if you dig the show, please do drop a rating and a comment in the iTunes store.
4. Read Art Contest: Yes indeed, the next one begins next week. Start flexing your art muscles and think about ... the holidays.
As always, thanks for reading and being a part of this nonsense.
