The mystery continues for Jean-Sebastien Giguere. The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender is sidelined indefinitely due to a groin injury that refuses to heal. The problem recurred Thursday night in Calgary, when Giguere left after two periods.
"We have been taking it slow, and we have been making sure there is no pain when I play and stuff like that," said Giguere. "So we'll have to take it slow again, but at the same time we have to get the right (diagnosis) and make sure that it's taken care of."
Giguere was slated to have an exam Sunday in Toronto, including an X-ray or MRI after the Leafs returned from a Western Canadian road trip on which they went 1-2. He will see a specialist on Monday. He sat out Saturday while Jonas "Monster" Gustavsson drew the starting assignment in a 4-1 loss in Vancouver. James Reimer, called up from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, will back up Gustavsson temporarily.
