Jamie Langenbrunner Out of Lineup for Devils, Trade May Be Imminent

New Jersey Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner missed Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers and his days -- if not hours -- with the team appear to be numbered.

Langenbrunner, 35, told the Newark Star-Ledger that the Devils asked him to waive his no-trade clause. He's set to become a free agent at season's end and could be the first major piece moved by GM Lou Lamoriello in the wake of this disappointing start to the season.

"The fact that I'm not there tonight probably means a trade will be happening sooner rather than later," Langenbrunner told the newspaper. "I'm in limbo waiting."
