SAN JOSE, Calif. -- At the end of October, the Ducks were still in their usual early-season slump and they got drilled 5-2 at HP Pavilion.
Now they're back in San Jose, looking to avenge that loss, and they are coming in as winners of their past three games.
"Two weeks ago, we came in here and got the doors blown off," Anaheim defenseman Paul Mara told FanHouse after the Ducks' morning skate. "Now we're a totally different team and coming in with confidence, and with a little chip on our shoulders."
Rookie defenseman Cam Fowler was out with a broken nose last time, but he was in the building, and he's equally looking forward to getting some payback.
"Now I'm ready, I'm stepping into a huge rivalry." Fowler said. "I haven't been part of it yet, so it's exciting.
"We know those guys have a great team. Obviously, we weren't happy with what happened last time. We weren't ready to play."
