Anze Kopitar has been on the verge of busting through and becoming a superstar in the NHL for a couple of years now, and after an 81-point effort a season ago he seems poised to take that next step this season. Based on Saturday's 2-1 season opening win against Vancouver, he's off to a pretty good start, even if it turned out to be a painful effort.Midway through the second period Kopitar was struck in the face by the stick of Canucks forward Manny Malhotra, resulting in a pool of blood on the ice, a missing tooth (which turned out to be a fake one, according to him) and 18 stitches.
